The next morning Akila came to confront Larissa immediately she sees that the king left

She entered Larissa room looking angry.

“Queen Akila good morning.”

No response.

“I am…”

“hey! And what is good about the morning just tell me Larissa? Why have you been tormenting me? what did I do to deserve all these.”

“Ha, what did I do? I have been here all the time so, what have I done?.”

“I don’t know what you always give the King for distancing himself whenever it’s my turn for his sleepover.

I believed you have been charming him for yourself, and it’s always my own turn you prefer taking him.”

“Nooo Queen Akila! It’s not like that. I didn’t use a spell on the king neither will I want to have him to myself by all means.

I also don’t know why he do that mostly. I wished I could ask him, but…you know he’s the king and his doings is never to be questioned.”

.

Akila raised the small portrait of Larissa and her family with a smile and smashed it on the floor intentionally and claimed it’s not intentional.

Larissa kept her tempers reaction and bend over to pick the broken glasses.

She knew within her that Akila seems to do it intentionally just because the king slept overnight with her.

“No problem, I will see the king myself because I don’t know why he feels you are the only one that needs to be pregnant again.

I also need to take in so that I can give birth to a son.

Who knows maybe heaven does not connect you in having a child” She said at the entrance and closed the door.

Larissa sat back on her bed and sobbed for what Akila just said.

She turned to her mirror and look at herself.

She stood up and remove her cloth revealing every part of her body. By faith stories

“Unkunlukulu (God) please, prove yourself greatly in my life.

Let those aiming to supersede me be far behind me, let them keep running without getting a strand of my hair or cloth.

Bestowed upon them what they wished for me.” Amen!.”

She got dressed an hour later, and took some loaf of bread under her cloth in other to give the guard that was in prison.

She wanted to help out in getting to the root of Atanga's children murderered. She wanted to help in her own capacity.

She believes one of the guard might open up to her one day if she continues to pressure them.

She has always been sneaking out at night to see them, but she didn’t want to do it secretly this time around since the king has told her about his mission of apprehending the murderer.

She walked into the palace room and saw her husband seated with some of the elders discussing.

Probably ' because of the matter. She stood at the entrance in other to be noticed by the king.

“Come over Queen.” He said looking up after seeing her.

She greeted everyone of them with a bow to the king.

“Speak up.” He ordered.

She requested to speak with him privately as it’s not a third party hearing.

The king ordered the elders to give him some minutes privacy just to listen to her troubling provocation.

They all left, leaving only the king and the guards with Larissa.

She stood up and say something into his left ear in a low voice, but it can be heard by the guards.

The king look at her for some minutes and didn’t want to accept, until he sees how desperate she’s with her sad mood.

“You can go. But, make sure you don’t stay longer because you shouldn’t raised awareness to the secret killers.

Take 4 guards along and when you get There, you must not send any of the guards away.” He said to her in a warning look.

“Of course my king! It’s just for a minute.” She answered looking so happy.

“You may go.” He answered as she thanked him and walked quietly out of the palace.

The elders entered including her father and they sat back awaiting the king to talk.

“Can we continue our conversation?.” He asked looking at all of them, who became enlightened by his word. They felt something terrible as happened again for his sudden mood.

Kante stood along the dungeon way awaiting her mother that went to the market.

She has been standing at the mighty rock side way for long. Stretching her neck around to check if she’s coming.

She looked over again and saw some people alighting from afar coming over with a chariot.

Immediately she saw the heft arrow at four angles, she knew someone important is coming from the palace.

“Could it be the King?.”

She muttered fearfully and bowed her head down facing the rock before they would get to her side.

Her father had once told her that it’s their discipline as a tradition to always bow to anyone carried in a royal chariot because it might be the king or Queen.

The guards walked passed her and she still wouldn’t raise her head because she don’t want to be caught by the guards that she disrespect their tradition.

As she was about raising her head up, the guards following the chariot step backwards.

She jumped down from the rock and took on a race.

“Stop there!.” Was the word of one of the guards at her.

She wheels her leg on the ground as she rolled twice injuring her right toes.

She quickly got up and jumped on one toes towards the guards.

“Here I am sir .” She answered on her knees looking up at them.

Larissa came down from the chariot and Kante bowed her head to the ground on sighting her.

“I am sorry Queen mother! I am sorry….”

“What are you sorry about my daughter?.” Larissa asked stretching forth her hands at her. Stand up my dear.”

Kante couldn’t raised up her head, as she fearfully stood at one position with her head to the ground.

“I said get up my dear.” Larissa said again raising her head with her hands.

She looked up at her shaking. You shouldn’t be scared, young girl. What is your name?.”

“My name Is kante.” She answered stuttering not looking at her.

“What a lovely name it’s .” She answered and looked at her feet bleeding.

She told one of the guard to get her into the chariot in other to treat her leg at a safer place.

“But…my Queen she is just a villager.” One of the guard said.

“I hope you know I was once a villager and are you now disobeying my order!.” She asked angrily.

“At all my Queen.” He answered and told kante who is not ready to follow him into the chariot to leave her alone.

“This is how Okile Children behaves.” Another guard said purposely so that Larissa will know who her father is. By faith stories

“You said what?.” Larissa asked facing the guards.

“She is Okile the flute player daughter. His last born.”

“That works with the king's uncle right?.” She asked surprisingly.

“Yes my Queen.” He answered.

“Wow…this is nice! I have always wanted to meet the man someday.

My father do recommend his skills in playing flute and I don’t know why my husband, the king doesn’t call for him.”

Kante, stood still looking at her. She remembered her father do tell them that anyone that disrespected the king or the Queens order Will be thrown into the dungeon or banned from the community.

So when Larissa ordered her to follow her, she didn’t hesitate to do so again because she doesn’t want to put her father in any difficult situation because of her.

Not even now that the palace is under unknown battles.

She entered the chariot with her and they rod away towards the dungeon.

“Do you know why I stopped by?.” Larissa asked smiling at her but kante isn’t happy.

“My mother will soon arrive.” She said looking down.

“From where?.”

“The market. She told me to wait for her.”

“Don’t worry my dear, I will send messenger across to her that you’re safe.”

“Okay my Queen.”

“You look so beautiful just like me (kante smiles shyly) I stopped by to ask of your name and you got injured because of me. Sorry dear.”

“Thank you my Queen.”

“How old are you?.” She asked.

“I am 12 years old.”

“Oh! I see. Young lady (smiling) don’t worry, your leg will be treated when we get to the dungeon okay.”

“Yes my Queen and thank you.”

They arrived at the dungeon. She brought out the bread she hides under her cloth and told kante that she’s going to give the prisoner.

“if I may ask my Queen, what was their offense? I heard they murdered late Queen Atanga's children.”

“Then you definitely know about it, so why asking again?.” She asked as they walked towards the dungeon.

Kante paused for a moment and while she was about to speak.

She saw a familiar face among the prisoners and step backwards running behind the Queen.

“Don’t give him the food, he doesn’t deserved it!.” She shouted pointing at Kumo, one of the guards in the prison.
