One Month Later

The palace activity as gone back to it normal doings, even the villagers who had a shut down for days have started their daily routine.

But it’s left out of everybody, one person is still grieving for her dear friend and co wife.

Larissa has been destabilized and always being alone since Atanga demised.

She found it difficult to go out of her room for several weeks until her father came to console her to let go of the past and to face the reality.

“It’s those that have life that still have hope of living, therefore think less and focus more” this is the word her father said that put away her fear even though she’s still finding it hard to let go of the memories.

She wished, Atanga hadn’t come to her room that day, she wished she should not have answered her when she called her.

Maybe she and her children might still be alive.

She really feels her presence every time, most especially at night.

King khaso came to her room in the night while she was preparing to sleep.

“You are welcome my king.” She said in a faintly smile as he sat on her bed.

“I hope you should be better now? .” He said looking at her pale face.

“Yes my king, I’m fine.” She answered.

“Come and sit beside me.” He ordered and she obeyed sitting beside him.

He rub his hand across her face in a loving reaction and tried pulling off her cloth.

“My king, I’m not happy.” She said and he stopped his hand movements.

“What happened?.” He asked.

She stood up and walked towards her window. She raised her fallen off sleeve nightwear to her shoulder.

“I have been having a nightmare recently about Atanga.”

“And how about it? What did you see.” He asked.

“She is always looking at me with her children under her hands wrapped beneath her body.

I kept asking what she wanted…but, she wouldn’t say anything but keeps starring.

At times she will smile at me doing the shatta sign (it means power demonstration) I don’t understand why she continues doing that anytime she shows up in my dream.

My king (kneeling at his front) I hope I am not their next victim?.” She said as tears flows down her cheek.

King khaso hugged her and said she shouldn’t be afraid because he’s always there for her.

“I am sure it’s because of your loneliness that is making you think unnecessarily.

Don’t worry, I pray that by our intimacy tonight. You shall conceived (pregnant).

“Its done!.

.

“I prayed my prayer should answer.” She said unhappily.

“So, don’t worry about having same dreams.

It’s because of your closeness with Atanga that makes you hallucinate about whatever she might be passing across to you.

I have told the elders to look deeply into the case, in other to know the ki.llers.

Infact, you’re the only person I’m telling this.

“What is that my king?.” She cleans her eyes looking at him.

“I have two spy in the palace to look out for any strange behavior around anyone in the palace or among any of my family, including the priest.”

“Who are the spy?.”

“Don’t worry about them. Once there is any suspect, you will be told.”

“Okay, my king.”

“Larrisa’.” He called and she answered. I want you to give me an heir to the throne.”

“And why? Remember I’m not the giver of children.”

“I know. But I believe yours will be different. Even the priest had testify to it by the oracle, That the heir to the throne will be From you.” He said smiling at her.

“Oh! My king. I will be so happy if it truly comes to pass.”
